The Gay Buddhist Fellowship’s 26th Annual Fall Retreat will be held on the fourth weekend of October, 2017–Friday, October 27th through Sunday, October 29th. We return to beautiful Vajrapani Institute, nestled among redwoods and streams in the Santa Cruz mountains near Boulder Creek.

The Retreat is now filled. If you would like to be on the waiting list-Contact Jerry Jones at 415-812-1640 or

Steven Tierney will be our dharma teacher for the Weekend.

Our theme is “drishta dharma sukka viharin.”

This teaching of the Buddha, translated as Dwelling Happily in Things as They Are, exhorts us to accept that all things are marked by the three dharma seals of impermanence, non-self and nirvana. When we do so, we no longer see everything as suffering. Rather, this is simply the nature of our world.

The weekend blends elements of a traditional, silent retreat—sitting and walking meditation—with interactive experiences presented by sangha members.  It is an opportunity to deepen both our practices and our connections to one another. Please join us for this very special weekend!
